This b&b has recently changed ownership, and based on the previous review, it is a change for the better. Great amenities, historic home (1st on the island), well-decorated (modern lodge feel with a lot of character), friendly staff, great breakfast (fresh baked scones, eggs, fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, bagels, etc.) & nicely located between the downtown and most attractions! We've stayed several places on PIB, but this was our favorite!

I was disappointed. It was only the second B&B I've ever stayed in, but it was not even in the same league as the other. Be prepared to bring your own shampoo, iron, hair dryer, cork screw (regardless that there is a winery a block away, there was no cork screw to be had at the Inn), and anything else you might need. Breakfast was good, but it was just breakfast casserole, Pillsbury muffins and fresh fruit, nothing fancy or fresh cooked. Quite possibly, this is how all B&Bs are, but I was not prepared. Whispering Pines near Atwood Lake, OH, spoiled me and I was not prepared for the lack of amenities. There was a really nice flat panel TV mounted on the wall though, that was nice! We were not greeted upon arrival and it was not possible to contact the Inn Keeper while staying there. It was sort of like staying in Aunt Ida's spare room, when she was away and she didn't give you access to anything but the bathroom.
