Was happy member for years, then new owner moves in from Florida and begins to use high pressure "must sign today" to get a rate - that then three months later they advertise lower. Otherwise decent club, but I would never sign another agreement with that high pressure - makes you wonder if they'll be around, especially with Golds moving to Athens in 2014. I'm staying at Ramsey!

I LOVE the Omni gym. Been a fully satisfied member since they opened. At $39 a month it's the best $ I spend! It is always VERY clean & upscale with mirror water falls, 2 story climbing bulldog with cushy floor, maybe a hundred tv's to watch while doing cardio. Steam, Sauna.... Hardly ever wait on a machine. a $7,000,000 original investment. Staff are polite, professional and helpful. I feel at home there. Lost 63 pounds in 11 months. I will miss it very much when I have to move out of town for business. Highly recommend!!!

After fighting with the Omni Club for 3 months about membership cancellation and charges received, I have finally accomplished canceling my membership and getting a refund. However, its was only after they treated me like junk and a lier for 3 months that they finally made it right. What a horrible business model the Omni Club uses. I will never do business with the Omni Club again and will always refer my friends somewhere else.

We regret to hear that your experience with ABC Financial Services was anything BUT satisfactory. Our ultimate goal is to provide the best customer service to both our clients and their members. It's a common practice for a membership to be cancelled once sufficient proof of relocation is received. We are aware that each individual situation differs from the next, however, all consumer concerns are taken very seriously and we would like the opportunity to review your situation and thoroughly satisfy your needs. If your intent is to discontinue your workout relationship with your health club, ABC Financial would simply outline the requirements to discontinue your service. We pride ourselves in providing excellent customer service and would be happy to rectify any inconvenience this may have caused you. I was not able to locate your membership with the information provided in this post, however, should you have additional comments you would care to discuss, please email me at Stephanie.cook @abcfinancial.com.

I have recently been faced with the biggest regret yet. For the past 3 weeks, I have been fighting with the ABC Financial company (located in Arkansas) in order to get my membership cancelled because I am moving 1.5 hours away. If I were to get into details, I would have to write a novel in order to sufficiently describe the situation. Just know that I definitely regret signing up with Omni and want to warn everyone to please please please READ ALL THE FINE PRINTS and do some research on ABC Financial before you sign up. ABC Financial is the company who actually takes cares of the billing for Omni. The Omni Club is a decent gym; however, ABC Financial WILL MOST LIKELY TRY TO SCAM YOU. If you just Google ABC Financial, the second thing listed is "ABC Financial Scam". Here is a link to one of many complaints: http://bit.ly/ee9Qjs (I promise that this link does not have a virus). My awful experience trying to get out of my membership is a combination of many of the complaints you will read about. Since I have been a victim of ABC Financial's scam, I really want to give everyone else a fair warning before they sign any contract with Omni.

Former member that just moved back to Athens after a year in San Diego. WOW did I miss my Athens! But I also missed Omni. All of my old buddies are still here: my trainer Leisa, Curtis, Don, Cat,etc....They have incredible employee retention and anyone that knows business knows that's important and says a lot. The club is amazing, as usual, better than anything in San Diego. As far as the best in Athens, don't make me laugh. Re-sign was simple. Glad to be back.

I also researched the internet before visiting. I noticed there are a few negative posts, very few. I also noticed they seem a little contrived and a little too detailed in my opinion to not be a competitor. My visit to this gym was amazing. The Omni Club in Athens is a world class gym. They were professional, easy to deal with and fun. The club is huge, luxurious, tons of equipment, Smoothie King plus it is spotless. I like the new yoga floor just installed. I joined on a month to month membership and was shown rates on a permanent laminated card. No games or trickery here. Very happy and impressed. Looking forward to the new Omni on the eastside of Athens.

I've gone into Omni twice to look to see if I want to join. After reading these ,in my opinion fake negative posts, I was pleasantly surprised. It's like walking into a luxurious spa. I needed to buy a membership and someone sold it to me. I thought they were highly educated and gave me the push I needed to get started. The people that work there are unbelievably good. Each time I went, I was shown rates on a permanent laminated card, no tricks. The first thing they want is your goals, wants and needs (Like going to a professionals office not a dump gym where no one cares about you), I joined on a month to month plan, no pressure. They suggested a trainer to assist me. It didn't fit my budget so I elected the free New Member Coach for 30 days, a service no other gym offers. Overall, I've talked to about 20-30 people who go to Omni just to see if the experience is the same--it is, spotless cleanliness, friendly staff, the most amenities. The owner obviously runs the most professional and well funded health club in Athens. I was going to join off the bat just by looking at their website as well, the staff and first impression just solidified that decision. I wasn't interested in the cheapest gym in town (you get what you pay for), I wanted the best, Omni. To the other poster, obviously if Bodyplex could charge what Omni charges and still get members they would, based on what I saw over there they can't and never will. Looking forward to the new eastside Omni in Athens.

I was a member of Omni for 2 years right after it opened. I moved so I didn't continue my membership. Just moved back to town and did not even consider another gym. I went back to Omni the other day to find out about prices. I also brought a friend who had never been there. Adam was assigned to showing us around the gym. He first began by asking us about basic health questions which was great, he really cared. He recommended we consider a trainer if it fit our budget. If not Omni still offered a New Member Concierge to help us for free, no other gym in the area offers this. While showing us around the gym he was very personal and showed us how each area of the club would benefit us individually. He said that a lot of people get lost when the first walk in and don't know what to do but that between training and the New Member Concierge, Omni would never leave us out in the cold. Well shouldn't that be any gyms responsibility to make sure their members or able to work out at the gym? Apparently only Omni thinks so. So after the amazing tour he sat us down to discuss prices. He started off with the package that included everything aka a trainer and all group training classes. After I got over the sticker shock:) he told us about the second package which was more in our price range. We enrolled immedately with the Results Plan, a discounted all inclusive membership with training, classes, nutrition support, etc... We are well on our way to exceeding our goals. Great Experience!

My husband and I moved to the Athens area about 3 years ago from Chicago. Coming from a big city to a small college town we were worried we would not be able to find a gym like the large one we used to attend. Our initial impression of Omni was quite shocking. We couldn't believe that this caliber of gym would be here! As a couple in our 30s, Omni provides everything each of us needs and is never crowded. Wonderful experience!

Club has it ALL As a student at the University of Georgia I could have gone to the student facility on campus, which is already included in my fees. However, I couldn't pass up being a member at The Omni Club. There is plenty of cardio equipment, machines, and free weights. I NEVER have to wait to use ANY equipment. Plus they have over 100 group fitness classes included in your membership. The facility is always spotless and all members/staff are considerate and wipe off equipment after use. PLUS the womens' locker room has a vanity area with blow dryers and straighteners so I never have to pack my own!

Great club, great experience. I don't have time to write an essay like the other reviewer but I can say I don't choose a business, especially my gym, based on one employee out of hundreds I won't even have to deal with after the first day. I joined on a month to month no contract membership. The process was very easy, not pushy at all. Although, I imagine a lot of people DO need a push when it comes to working out. Beautiful clean and well maintained club, no broken equipment, classy and not overcrowded. I've been a member at Bodyplex, glad to be gone from there.

We've gone into Omni twice to look to see if we want to join. I am amazed at how pushy the sales people are; it's such a turn off. It's like walking into a place and having people constantly try and bait you into joining. Anyone with 1/2 a brain cell will walk away just out of principle. The guys that work there are really unbelievable. Each time we've gone, we've been told a different price and sign up option. I've had my sorority sisters go in just to see what they say, and again, the first thing they want is all your information (Like going to a doctor for a physical), then they act like if you don't sign up that minute you're going to lose the deal of a lifetime (not even close) . They push their trainers on you, and act like if you don't choose them you're not being serious about being healthy. Overall, we've had about 10 people go into Omni just to see if the experience is the same--it is for each one of us. The owner needs to realize that he doesn't need to pressure people into joining w/ employees that seem like they have nothing better going for them. We were going to join off the bat just by looking at their website, but the pressure and lack of informal introduction to the place turned us off completely. We ended up joining Bodyplex for 30 a month with free tanning!! The guys over there are sooo much nicer, don't pressure, don't blow up your phone, and when you walk in you're not constantly bombarded with you have to join today.

All I can say is WOW! I am a member of The Omni Clubs in Augusta GA (same owner) and I didn't think a club could match my experience in the Augusta Omni Clubs. While visiting Athens for the Holidays I went to work out at The Omni Club Athens, members can use all clubs. OH MY GOD! This is the most gorgeous and well staffed health club I have ever been in, in Athens no less!! It looks like a club from Beverly Hills or something and they treat you like a celebrity too. I can't say enough about this company.

First, I have been a member for 4 years. This is the all around best gym I have ever seen. I don't see any cost cutting going on at this club. They continually add amenities, new equipment, a new Smoothie King in the lobby and they just officially announced a new second facility in Athens. I get all the help I need from the huge frindly staff. As for the previous poster, I inquired with the manager, which apparently "John Smith" (come on an anonymous negative posting, probably one of Omni's little insignificant competitors trying to hurt them) didn't. Because I found out their free circuit training supervision (The only in Athens) is simply closed for retraining and will re-open in the new year. Don't deny yourself the pleasure of being a member at this Club.
