Jason came to my house to fix a broken pipe in the upstairs bathroom sink. After spending about fifteen minutes removing the pipe, he told me it was a simple fix from this point, and if I wanted to, he'd let me repair it, and charge me nothing for the visit. Excellent plumber, he knows his stuff, and he will not overcharge you for simple repairs, or upsell you on unneeded work. Very trustworthy.

I am one of the many victims of the "winter vortex" everyone keeps talking about. I have lived in my home for 14 years and never had a pipe burst due to freezing weather. However, January 7, 2014, took care of that. Came home from work to find water gushing from under my house. Through too many coincidents to detail here, I was very fortunate to have Jason answer my call for help. He worked me into his schedule for the next day, arrived on time, and promptly offered me more than one repair option. The repair was done quickly and Jason stayed long enough to run water throughout the house and check the crawlspace again for any additional leaks. He also wrote me a very detailed work order receipt which I am sure I will need in my inevitable talk with DeKalb Water Management. It is also worth noting that my HVAC company owner, who probably knows many plumbers, told me this is the only plumber he will use. Needless to say, I am thrilled to have found Jason and The Plumbing Detectives and will recommend him to everyone I know.

Jason has a work ethic that is so hard to find in plumbers these days. He is honest, ethical and very knowledgeable. He knows his stuff!! He was not only able to repair a leaky water heater (which after his repair lasted another year (the water heater was over 10 years old), but when it was time to replace it, his work was superior! I highly recommend him! :-)

We used the Plumbing Detective when we purchased our home in late 2010. He helped us install a toilet and gave us some general advice about our property. He also gave us instructions on how to get our rebate from the county for replacing our toilet with a low-flow toilet. I appreciate that he made it so easy for us because we were pretty overwhelmed with contractors and repairs at the time! Now we are considering a new hot water heater. We will be calling him again.

Jason worked with me for almost a month to remedy a clogged sewer line. He had to go to the county for plans, wait on lines to be marked, wait on trees to be cut down and stumps ground before we were able to complete the necessary work. He kept me informed and he let me know all my options for repair. I recommend him highly for any plumbing needs.

After a bad experience with another Decatur Plumbing business--we decided to try a new one. We are sold on Plumbing Detectives! First visit Jason made some suggestions to make our toilet work better (cleaning jets, etc.) No charge for that visit. Seemed to work better for a while and started having problems again. He came out next day and installed new toilet quickly and at a reasonable price. Nice guy, good work, fair price. Highly recommend.

I had a clogged kitchen drain, and thought the problem was the garbage disposal because I had snaked the drain line myself. I called Plumbing Detectives and Jason was onsite the same day, assessed it and stated it that it was the drain line, not the disposal, and that I had not fed the snake line far enough, having only done about 15 ft. which was not far enough to clear the clog. He looked at the drain pipe in the crawl space, found it was old copper pipe, and informed me his pro grade snake line might break copper pipe and that I might want to consider renting again the Home Depot mini router (which would be safe) and running the full 50 ft thru the line. If that did not clear it, he could come back and cut out and replace the copper pipe which would be much more expensive. I took his advice, and it worked! He did not charge me for the advice or service call. I will definitely be calling Plumbing Detectives for any future plumbing needs!

The Plumbing Detective came to my rescue and fixed what I could not. Our kitchen sink had been clogged for a while, and Jason was able to come out on the same day I called. I will definitely call again.

The last review is bogus. I am the owner of The Plumbing Detectives and apparently someone is getting a kick out of leaving fake negative reviews. I have NEVER had any customer call another plumber to fix any of my repairs, PERIOD! I will let the REAL reviews speak for themselves. Those of you who have used me KNOW that I run an honest business and stand behind my work. Always have, always will! To the coward who is leaving bad reviews on your competitors, shame on you! If you are a REAL customer (which you are not, that "repair" never happened) give me a call at 770-483-0577 ANYTIME. If you can prove that I did this work (show me my invoice) I will give you $1000.00! Put your money where your mouth is.

Our shower started leaking down into our kitchen ceiling. When the guy first showed up, he said simple repair job. Once he started working he said he needed a part but didn't come in his plumbing truck (???)4 hours later, a giant hole in the ceiling, and a flooded floor b/c he forgot to turn off the water, he was nice enough to charge us over $700. And the repair wasn't even done correctly b/c a few months later I had to call another plumber out to fix the same problem. Turns out these guys used a plastic part for hot water rather than brass so that they could save a few bucks. But guess what? Plastic melts! And the new plumber (over at a better plumbing) did the repair for under $300 and finish in about an hour.

I called The Plumbing Detectives based on the Kudzu reviews and their proximity to the work I needed done. My mother-in-law's Decatur condo was under contract and the inspector found what he thought was some plumbing not up to code. Jason came to the condo on Thursday, 3/18/10, (he even arrived a little early!) and checked out the situation. As a Class 2 Master Plumber (I think that's correct) he didn't think it was a code problem. I told him I would double check with the buyer and if they insisted it be updated, I would ask him to do the work. He was fine with that and then charged me absolutely NOTHING for the visit! I was amazed! Does anyone do that any more!? I offered to at least pay him for his gas. But he refused. He said he gets his referrals by word of mouth and by Kudzu reviews and just asked me to "spread the word." That's the reason for my review and you can bet the next time I have ANY plumbing issue, I will call Jason first thing. I highly recommend him for his work ethic as well as his plumbing expertise and knowledge. Thank you, Jason, for restoring my belief that there are still honest and skilled craftsmen out there.

I had a problem with my pipes after hooking up a new washer and called Jason after reading the obviously genuine and recent reviews for him (I don't trust those big companies with hundreds of reviews who pay to get listed first). Jason personally answered the phone. After listening to me he explained how I didn't need a professional plumber and told me what to do to solve the problem myself. Only a trustworthy man turns down business to do the right thing. This is why you should seek out honest and hardworking small business owners who appreciate and strive to give customers the best service possible instead of large companies with employees you will never see twice in a row and therefore can't build a relationship with.

The Plumbing Detectives in Decatur did an outstanding job on a toilet clog problem--knowledgeable, extensive experience, professional, courteous, arrived on time, gives advice vs. charging for things that don't need to be done, etc. Run by Jason and his wife who take all calls, no answering service to screw up the message or scheduling. Highly recommend. "Satisfied in Decatur"

Super friendly, same day service, and much cheaper than we were expecting. He even showed my husband ways to fix some little things on our own. A very very positive experience for something that we were dreading. Thanks!
