I got salon services. Absolute worst experience ever! I am a #5 light brown/dark blonde. I had low lights and platinum highlights already when I came in. I wanted to get highlights and low lights again. I consulted with the stylist, and was quoted $90 for color and highlights. Plus $35 for a cut. I don't know how you turn platinum hair orange, but the stylist succeeded! My hair is orange and yellow. My dark blond and light brown low lights are all orange, and the blonde I already had is now covered up with bright yellow! OMG! Oh, and the bill I was handed was $210, as the stylist handed it to me, they said, Phew! Lots of work! The cut, I had very few layers in my hair, I explained that I wanted long layers, a very low maintenance hair cut, and that I didn't want to have to use a hair dryer in the morning. Also said that I was trying to grow my hair out long. I now have layers in my hair that are shorter than 4"!!! I'm horrified!! In addition, once the stylist started my service, there was no more courtesy. I had to hold my own foils, they got hair dye all over my ears, neck, forehead, and didn't put a towel in the arch of the sink, so my neck is bruised and water got everywhere. Too embarrassed of my orange hair to post picture!

Did I get a good shampoo, cut and style? Yes. Very detailed, once the stylist got to that part. Hair was washed and conditioned, then the stylist went to work with another client. An HOUR later (seriously, I am not exaggerating), the stylist came back and cut and styled for me. Total time spent there for this service: 2 hours. I think the amount of time was ridiculous, especially since I had an appointment, so why would they be doubled up like that? Keep in mind, this was the "cheap" haircut at $30. Depending which of the three levels of stylist you choose, you could pay up to $90 (!!!!) for a shampoo, cut and style. If you just need a decent haircut fast, go to Great Clips. I spent the whole time I was at Ulta wishing I was at Great Clips. I'm treated better at Great Clips, faster service without an appointment, and my haircut is $12, maybe $18 if I get a shampoo!
