Park your rig and unwind at Uniontown KOA, an ideal setting for relaxation and recreation. Situated between the Youghiogheny River and the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail, every campsite comes with a view of the trail or river. Cast for trout or launch a canoe (rentals available) into the Youghiogheny. Or set off on a bike ride of any length along the 150-mile trail. Enjoy KOA's themed weekends spring through fall, DJs and live bands, bonfires and music by the pool. Plan a day trip to Laurel Caverns, Kennywood amusement park and Fort Necessity. Fallingwater, one of Frank Lloyd Wright's homes, lies just a half hour east. Winter camping by reservation only.Pool: Memorial Weekend - Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 80 feet. Your hosts: Denise and Deene Yenchochic.
River's Edge: Great canoe/float trip service. When river is not 2high/low, ideal length/skill for young and/or first-time floating families. River scenery from TENT sites(notice emphasis) is uncomparable however 2 or 3 rv sites offer a pretty good view as well. TRAINS: NIGHTTIME VERY LOUD, EARPLUGS A MUST! CABINS: 3 new offering clean, convienent, private bath/kitchen facilities, but think small, crammed, backyard playhouse for idea of size. We chose not 2use shower for fear of flooding floor. But kitchen is easier to use. "Limited utensils" =BYO 2Bsafe. Cabins 1&2 have atmospheric setting, part shade. #3 is in middle of RV's. TENT SITES: Beautiful trees. Next door neighbors R2 close but showers/flushable toilets R2far away. Also, the river ledge is at your feet-very appealing to children. B-prepared to say "stay back" continuously. Only tent sites NOT on the river are the last 4 sites. TRAIL RIDERS/GROUP CAMPERS: Best spots in G-1,G-2, G-3. However, rain=muddy. G-4-6 not level but grassy. RV SITES: scenery=(up-close)side of another RV or gravel road. Full sun. POOL: As of 8/08, clean & well kept. TOILETS/SHOWERS: Private shower stalls, w/mat at shower section, but state park campgrounds offer more and cleaner facilities. CAMP SHOP AND MANAGEMENT: reasonable $$, limited necessities. (Full groceries 3 miles to Connellsville) For clear answers, speak directly w/owner-manager. NIGHT TRAINS AND VOL FIRE DEPT=EAR PLUGS A MUST!
