VCA Black Mountain Animal Hospital is a veterinary facility based in Henderson, NV where your pet's health is our top priority and excellent service is our goal.
This weekend I had to take my dog to the vet for the first time since she moved here from Wisconsin...what a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I just want to warn everyone, under no circumstances should you take your pets to the VCA ANIMAL HOSPITAL in Henderson (Black Mountain Clinic). I had my misgivings from the minute I walked in the door. The place looked like it was falling apart, there were urine stains on the bottom halves of the walls; altogether terrible. But I didn't have a reccommendation for any other vet, so I stayed. My dog was diagnosed with "pancreatitis," which required blood to be drawn, xrays, and an injection. Never before at a vet has my dog been out of my sight when these types of procedures take place, but at the VCA, they informed me that it was against the law for me to be in the room when this happened. Long story short, an hour later they returned my poor dog to me in EXTREME PAIN. She was yelping uncontrolably whenever anyone barely touched her, not to mention when the vet and vet tech repeatedly picked her up onto and off of the counter to show me that she was "okay, just nervous." I completely disagree! My dog was NOT in pain when she went in, and was IN EXTREME PAIN when she came out. I'm suspicious that they did something incorrectly, or dropped her, or god knows what! If you are thinking about going to VCA for the "lower prices" do not even think about it...my visit totalled $451, and my dog came back more ill than when she went in! Horrible!

I took my 9 yr old Golden Ret.to this VCA in obvious distress and none of the front office staff seemed to care. We waited for our turn and the female vet didn't even seem to have a clue as to what to do. She claimed he was growling at her when she listened to his chest with the stethoscope. The "growling" it turned out was his lungs filling with fluid, how could a Vet not know the difference? She sent him in the back for an x-ray, me to the waiting room, and that's the last time I saw my wonderful Golden alive. Her comment was "I don't know what happened, he was just fine and then he just collapsed". He wasn't "just fine" when I took him in there.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. THREE YEARS AGO THEY ALMOST KILLED MY CAT BY ADMINISTERING TEN TIMES THE DOSAGE OF STEROID NEEDED FOR AN ANIMAL THIS SIZE.

All of the doctors at VCA Black Mountain Animal Hospital are great! I have 2 dogs and they have been in to see the doctors over the years. The doctors are very thorough when seeing my dogs. I'm very happy with VCA as my dogs' VET.
