My dogs and I love Herndon-Reston!! The vets are wonderful and they have a very friendly staff! I use the boarding and grooming services mostly, and the technician is always very good with my dogs' baths and nail trims. The care is top tier and Dr. Carlson is caring and very skilled. I really appreciate all the excellent care my dogs get from their office!

This place is over priced (charged me over $300 dollars for their mistake) and said my puppy might have liver failure. This is after I told them repeatedly about issues my dog was having and they just brushed it off. I waited over 2 hours for a mistake that they made again. The staff is friendly, however they charge you for things you don't need and they are lousy at their jobs as VETS!

We've taken our cats to Dr. Michaels and his staff since we moved to Herndon in 1990. That's about a dozen cats in all. The practice has helped them live long, high quality lives, including ones that lived to 20, 17, and many to 14-16 years. They have diagnosed and treated our little ones when other vets have failed. They always listen first, provide various options for treatment, and then do what you want. They are always extremely kind to the pets and never blame them if they act up while being examined. It is clear these vets love our animals and are always interested first in their well being. We moved 100 miles away 8 years ago, and now use local vets for routine visits. But they never meet the standards we always experienced in Herndon, so we always take the pets back for thorough checkups periodically, and for any unusual situations. We entrust the lives of our little charges to Dr. Michaels, Dr. Simmons, Dr. Nostrandt and Dr. Hall. Individually they are great. As a group, they're the best. Period.

I've been coming to the Herndon Reston Animal hospital for a little over a year now and I will never leave. I absolutely love it! The doctors are very knowledgeable and always treat my pet with love and respect. The staff are wonderful and often visit with the animals in the waiting room and give them all sorts of special attention. I'm really glad I have found such a wonderful place to bring my pet.

We trusted HRAH with our cat that we loved for 13 years. He was a part of our family. We boarded our cat Simba with HRAH when we went on vacation. During this time they called us reporting they had accepted a flea infested animal in the clinic. HRAH needed to remove all their patients to deflea the premises. They asked for permission to take our cat home for the day. When HRAH took our cat out of the clinic they transported him in a CARDBOARD carrier. The bottom dropped out and poor Simba was lost forever. If you love your pet do not take them to HRAH under any circumstances. While HRAH was supportive in their efforts to find Simba, the bottom line is our loving cat would not have been lost in the first place other than for their complete and utter negligence. They shouldn't have accepted a contaminated animal without taking proper precautions and they certainly should NEVER place someone's cherished pet in a temporary flimsy CARDBOARD carrier!
