VCA Pacific Petcare Animal Hospital is a veterinary facility based in San Diego, CA where your pet's health is our top priority and excellent service is our goal.
If you are looking for quality veterinary services, than look no further than Pacific Petcare. The hospital is clean and doesn't have "that smell" that other hospitals have. Yes, they are on the expensive side, but in this case you get what you pay for. I am extremely picky and I have gone to other Vets in the past, but there is no comparison. Case in point: I make the 20 minute drive from Scripps Ranch even though there is a Veterinarian 2 miles down the road. If you take your pet there, I recommend seeing Dr. McClellan. He is very gentle with the handling of pets and genuinely cares. He answers all of your questions and doesn't rush you. I have been a client for 8 years.

our dog got bitten by a snake. I called and they immediately got her in and took good care of her. The vet explained everything and had me sign an estimate for $1400, but it ended up being $2200.I understand that they also have to make ends meet but I felt like they were double charging for several smaller items like "misc materials" and "syringes and tubes"...why does it cost $210 to take an Xray of the paw, when an Xray of my hip is $60?? Overall I am satisfied with the care and the vet in particular, but I think they are way too expensive. At least they did not charge for a follow up visit.

Most uncaring vet and CEO that I have ever experienced. Care more about themselves and business revenue. Management trusts vets more than customers and do not communicate to find out both sides of the story. My 2 dogs had nail infections on all paws. Pacific Petcare prescribed an antibiotic for $400/mo per dog x 2 dogs for a total of $800. One month later when my dogs were NOT cured, by myself I sought out a competent expert, who new what they were doing. I went to the Animal Dermatology Clinic and saw Dr. Craig Griffin and within 1 month with new meds costing less than $50/mo generic at Wal-Mart both of my dogs were showing signs of improvement and after 5 months all nails are completely healed. I do not recommend using Pacific Petcare as a primary vet. They try different cures costing $$$$$, but do not have the knowledge nor expertise and worst of all they do not refer you to other competent specialty vet who do know what they are doing. I wasn't going to write a comment, but I had a recent experience where my dog was in the ICU at VHS. I received a phone call from this same vet recommending to move my dog from ICU to Pacific Petcare. NOT on my dogs life would I do this!!!!!!!! My dog is now better without assistance from Pacific Petcare. I am no longer a customer and recommend highly that you go elsewhere for primary vet service.

My dog had an upset stomach. He wanted me to leave her there and also wanted me to sign an estimate for $750.00 charge. I paid the office visit and left. He tried to make me feel as though I didn't care for my pet. A total crook.

Killed my cat by giving her 3x the amount of sedative she needed to wrap her foot in a splint. A simple visit for a sprained leg / splint turned into an execution for my cat. After administering the sedative to put on the splint they upsold me in the lobby and told me anesthesia was necessary. My cat died on the table. All vets are only a few years out of school and inexperienced ! Dr. Andrew McClellan was fined by the Veterinary Medial Board only $500.00 for killing my cat. STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOUR ANIMAL'S LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Check the license and lawsuits befor you go to a vet which is just convenient to your neighborhood. Check Medical License here: http://www.vmb.ca.gov/ lic1list.htm Another Vet, Rani Reuter, currently HAS a delinquent license under Dr. John Boyd. VERY SCARY organization. Junior vets, no supervision, fines, lawsuits, expired licesnes.....the list goes on. MURDERERS AT BEST.

My husband and I moved to San Diego recently and needed to find a new vet. We came across Pacific Petcare and decided to make an appt for our Yorkie. We were absolutley impressed with the service, hospitality for our dog and the thoroughness of the doctors. We highly recommend Pacific Petcare.

My dog is a new patient but so far we have really liked this vet. It came recommended to me when I moved the area. The vets seem very intelligent and good with animals.
