I bought a Lab from ValCar Kennels about 4 years ago and at 6mos the dog was diagnosed with severe hip displaysia. Soon after, he showed signs of knee problems and was diagnosed with Patellar Luxation and a torn ACL. The first Orthopedic Vet I saw recommended surgery on both knees and hips which would have totaled more than $15,000. I had the knee done at the UGA Vet school for $3000. ValCar would not refund any money from my original purchase but they offered to let me take another puppy per their guarantee. I had to get ACL Surgery on the new dog last year and just got the diagnosis from our vet that his other ACL is ruptured. After this surgery, I will have spent $9000 on knee surgeries for two dogs from ValCar. I wish I had done more research before choosing this breeder.
