My cat never gets groomed properly. In addition, they tried to talk me into some very expensive tests they said my cat needed just because he's old. They didn't used to be this way.

took my lab to be boarded for a long weekend, brought toys to be left with him, paid extra for him to be walked and bathed. when i picked him up, he looked like he's been in a fight, had a skin condition that ultimately lasted for months and was totally exhausted. no toys were returned. i asked that a vet look at him at no charge and they refused. i voted with my feet and simply found another vet.

I was extrememly nervous about having a thorough deep cleaning/scaling done for my lil pap Mighty Max! None of my other previous dogs have ever had one done. Max has the most sensitive system. He reacts to his shots, has food allergies and all kinds of things I never experienced with my other pets. So I was nervous about the entire thing. The staff, the vet techs and vets were extremely sensitive and caring to BOTH of us. We went in on Saturday and talked to our vet so he could answer ALL my questions, which were numerous. We did decide to do the pre-screening blood work and pre-and post antibiotics since Mighty Max is SO sensitive to everything. I love my vet's office staff, everyone was so patient with me, my nervousness, and all my questions. Thank goodness they all seem to adore Max too. He didn't lose any teeth and did pretty well last night. All of the staff, and the doctors we have seen have been wonderful. Dr. Mason was Max's first vet there but he has seen and loved Dr. Wood, and now Dr Empel and Dr Nix. Max has gone here for a few years now and I think we will be staying with a good thing! He is always well taken care of when he goes for grooming too.

I have a persian cat that I have had groomed many times at a vet where we lived previously and the results were very good, but at Vernon Woods (where I've taken my cat at least four times) the grooming is VERY poorly done! My cat comes back not shaved very well and with bits of shaven fur still stuck to her paws and ears as if they don't even comb her out. I am looking for a new cat groomer. Any suggestions?

I had been a client of Vernon Woods for over 30 years, I have become very disappointed over the last several years. Unfortunately, I have found that over the years the prices continue to increase and the quality of care has decreased. Although many of the vets are very kind, I find that they are not up to date in comparison to many of the other veterinarians in town. I have found many cases in which an "answer" has been given without fully knowing if it is the correct one. I would much rather have someone say I don't know and refer me to a specialist, than have my pet on unecessary (sometimes harmful)medication. After years of paying too much and getting mediocre care, I switched to a veterinarian that has state of the art equipment and yet still costs less.

A large group of well trained, experienced vets. Above average. Will work with UGA Vet School on unique problems. Also a caring group of vets. Office Staff always seem to be "clique-y" but are effective at their tasks. I rely on Vernon Woods to keep my pets healthy and long-lived. Can be 10% more expensive - but you get what you pay for.

I belive this was one of the first palces in Atlanta to offer pet microchips. we had all our pets microchiped here. the value of this service has been demonstrated by the New orleans disaster. the microchip allowed the evacuees to reunite with tehir pets.
