I switched to WM a few years ago. After reviewing my bill, I noticed that they gradually kept increasing my fees. At this point (November 2011), my bill was $65 a quarter, $14 of the bill was fuel charges, and $4.00 was admin fees. After contacting the company on November 16 to notify them that I was canceling and going with another company and to please send me a pro-rated bill, I've only received one email (November 18) asking why I was leaving. I told them that I switched to save money, and my new rate would be $45 a quarter (that's what I was paying when I initially signed up with WM). I asked again for a pro-rated bill and a date when they would be picking up my cans. Once again, no response.

For a public traded company this outfit that serves Alpharetta is a JOKE. They consistently screw-up pick-ups and expect to have your garbage sit outside for a week before they send the morons to come get it. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hire a local company whop cares about their reputation WASTE MANAGEMENT IS THE WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've read some bad reviews on this company and just want to offer a balanced perspective. While they were a couple of days late delivering the garbage can, they've made the pick-ups without any problems so far.

We signed up with them, and they did not even show up the first time to pick up trash. I have called for three days in a row at least two-four times per day, and the trash is still sitting outside of my house. Customer service keeps telling me it will be picked up, but they never show up.

In June 2005 Waste Management purchased my garbage collection provider Waste Industries of California. Waste Industries provided excellent service. After Waste Management of Atlanta took over the service has been poor. In July and August 2005 Waste Management of Atlanta missed pickup for 6 weeks. After they finally got that straightened out they would occasionally miss a pickup. Starting Thanksgiving weekend 2006 the have picked up 2 times. Currently Jan. 6 2007. If you have a choice I would choose anyone other than Waste Management of Atlanta. Their Customer service is unresponsive. Check the Better Business Bureau ratings. They have an unsatisfactory rating.
