The SHORT story of what happened to me: I was not allowed to read the extremely long lease offsite - I had to make time to read it in their office. I was not allowed to have a copy of signed lease until after I moved in. I couldn't have a key until I completed their inventory with their personnel (when I had inadequate time during their office hours to do so). I still couldn't have a copy of the signed lease until I finished the inventory. No one contacted me after any of the above instances when I expressed my dissatisfaction to their personnel on duty (and at times my anger). Finally, when I was able to see the apartment, it was not the "nicer than the model" that was told to me when I came to check out the complex. I can't recall even 1 situation with them so far where where I felt my time or perspective were under consideration. Everything is for their convenience and to cover themselves legally. I did not feel valued as a prospective tenant or now as a new tenant. I regret having trusted their personnel. However, now they had my money, a signed lease, I had movers scheduled, and needed to find a place closer to work right away. I had been looking a long time. A big part of me wishes I had kept looking. Their lawyers have counseled them well on how far they can push the envelope and not get into trouble. I'm NOT saying you WILL have a bad experience with them or maybe you don't even care about the above stuff that I care about. I just wanted you to know.
