THREE WEEKS AGO-I wanted to purchase a used car from Dyer & Dyer. Over three weeks, multiple D&D salespeople, marketing people pursued me to purchase, calling several times a week. SATURDAY-I decided to buy the car. SATURDAY-My financing was approved the same day. The sales manager approached me, shook my hand, and said "We had a deal". However, I wouldn't take delivery without a mechanical inspection from a 3rd party. Dyer & Dyer would not accept a deposit to hold the car until the mechanical inspection was completed, "either take the car or take your chances". MONDAY-Dyer & Dyer agreed to a mechanical inspection on WED @ 4p. WEDNESDAY @ 12n- Dyer & Dyer confirmed the appt. @ 4p. WEDNESDAY @ 4P-I entered D&D to take the used car to the inspection. I was told, "Sorry, a Man is buying the car right now." When I asked the salesperson why he didn't call me to cancel the appt.? "Well, we just approved his financing." I reminded the salesman, my financing was approved FIVE days prior. His response, "yes, well..." The sales manager made the decision to give the car to a man who just walked in, versus a woman he made a sales agreement with five days prior. In the last five hours, I've heard multiple stories from other women, of similar experiences. Dyer & Dyer management makes exclusions or sales restrictions on the basis of sex: If a sale is between a Woman or man, the sales manager will give the deal to the Man. That's discrimination and that's against the law.

Have purchased two new cars from this dealership before. My daughter and I have both had bad experiences with service there. Today after being told that I could would not be able to take the loaner car out of the city, which I have always done. (I am a field sales rep), I spoke with the manager after dealing with a diva. I shared with him that you cannot get in touch with anyone to schedule a service appt., and that if I cannot drive loaner for my job that I will not be able to stay at home just because I am getting car serviced. He over and over again (I personally think the dealership needs new management), that he has put up with my "abuse" over the years! and that he works so hard coming in at 5am and not leaving until 8pm. (I hear violins). Wow, I put in 60 hr weeks, and when my customers call me about something, I never complain to them for having to do my job. I also reminded him that abuse would be calling names (gave some expamples) which I have never done to him. His idea of abuse is asking him to do his job! This dealership is at an all time low. Why doesn't Volvo know this and make some changes there, like "clean house". Why don't you just quit your job instead of making your customers miserable? Atlanta needs a good Volvo dealership, but this is not one. When did it become abuse to go to a general manager when the service is horrible. Wow, people, beware, GM thinks that he is more important than the customer. Good ridance incompetency!

I recently had the misfortune to use Dyer & Dyer's Service Department to replace a part. Their price was about $100 higher than NAPA's price, and then they added on another 1/2 hour of service (at $85 hour) from what it actually took to replace the part. I used to have my Volvo serviced at D & D years ago, but stopped going for this very reason. High cost of parts and getting ripped off on labor. Avoid this place if you can.

I bought a 2011 XC60 from Dyer Dyer. I could not have been more pleased with the level of service and friendliness from my sales consultant, Sid Randjbar, the sales manager, Mark Levy, and the finance manager, Gary Gilbert. Mark found the exact car I wanted, and I am satisfied with the sale. I love my car!

After 12 years in Atlanta and 1 VW, 1 Porsche, 1 Mercedes, 1 Lexus, 1 Range Rover, 1 Land Rover, 1 BMW, later...(just the point of the various dealerships i had to deal with) I went back to Mark Levy and David Attal for my 2nd Volvo (3rd from them for the family)! They are absolutely fantastic and do justice to the other cheesy dealers up and down P.St.I as D&D and Mark and David are a) professional b) understand that you need a solution, not a P... envy c) highly competent and d) rare for this business, very upfront and ethical... I would highly recommend to even stop by and chat with Mark and definitely get to know David... Gush, he looks 18 but has 24 years VOLVO experience!!! Thanks again guys. CD P.S. With auto sales down, I believe the service department is trying to get every customer to pay for more repairs than are needed. I sat in the lounge, and heard the service writers try to up-sell every customer with additional repairs. Most customers figured out what was happening and declined. I said no to $1800+ of additional (out of warranty) repairs for my car that only has 35,000 miles. They wanted me to buy new tires to replace my Michelins, replace my radiator, replace door seals and so on. Several months later my car continues to run great, and I will never return to this dealership for service.

I love my volvo, I got it the day my old car died and I have never regretted my choice, they do make every effort to ensure your happy with your purchase. The service dept, at least the few reps that I have dealt with have been more than nice to me and helpful, they even refunded me when I was charged by a car rental place for a car one day when they ran out of loaners. So I do say that overall they do a very good job at customer service. I have had my share of issues, but nothing significant enough to lower my overall score. I still trust their service over other places but I will advise to never buy tires from them, go to a real tire store because tires that you buy from a dealer do not come with any warranty.

I brought my car to dyer and dyer for scheduled maintenance - they found the transmission was having problems, and replaced it (under warranty). However, when I got the car back, the mechanics had forgotten to tighten all but one of the bolts on a tire. This is a very dangerous thing to discover while zipping along Atlanta's highways. When I called Dyer, they were apologetic, offered a free detailing (gee, thanks) and I brought my car back in to make sure the mistake hadn't caused any permanent damage. You'd think that since they effed up so badly the first time, they would take extra care to make sure the job was done right, but... couple weeks later, I start hearing a grinding noise when turning, so back to dyer it goes - an issue related to the wheel, so fixed no charge. Driving the car out of the service lot, I notice the brakes now squeal, so back again. I'm then told there's a problem with the brakes that will be $500 to fix. It was only because I became indignant that they consented to "test drive" my car, and discovered that a brake pad was misaligned, and fixed no charge. In short, they could've killed me with an incompetent repair, and then tried to charge me $500 for a repair that wasn't needed, and the only reason they didn't charge was because I called them on their BS. Don't ever go here if you can avoid it.

If you're a woman buyer, I'd recommend going elsewhere. Apparently Dyer does not believe women can and do purchase cars. On my visit, I brought my boyfriend along with me to look for a car and even though he and I both clearly stated I was the purchaser, the dealer kept attempting to sell the car to him. It was obvious enough that my boyfriend commented on it as well. I walked out of the dealership and bought (in cash) at the next dealer I went to - Heritage VW, which I would highly recommend.

We purchased our current Volvo from Dyer & Dyer and the lease paper work was written up for a higher price then we negotiated. When I discovered the error the business manager could not explain it or change it. We love our car and will always own Volvos but I will never buy from D&D again. The sales person was wonderful. The sales manager was a snake.

I have no confidence in their work. 1. Used car purchase was to have 60k service but a. the serpentine belt was not changed b. 2 bolts left off the valve cover (we call those "pocket bolts") 2. Radiator overheated and rather than first checking to see if the thermastat failed, they did a $ 120 cooling assessment prior to replacing the failed thermastat. I haven't been back since.

We were in the market for a Volvo last summer and visited a number of Volvo dealerships. The sales person at Dyer and Dyer was most helpful to us but then took us to see the "sales manager". In less than three minutes, the "sales manager" undid all the positives that his sales person had established. Primarily by trying to close the deal in a "sleazy", high-pressure manner even though I clearly explained our purchasing decision process to him. Ironically, I had the same experience with Dyer and Dyer years ago so I can only presume this is part of the organizational culture and not just a "bad apple". We drove out to Marietta and purchased a Volvo from Nalley Volvo where the product is the same but they treat their clients with the respect that clients should expect when making a $40,000 purchase.
