I would like my experience to be a learning lesson for first time moms and patients. This clinic has a policy about appointments attendance, so please do not miss them. I was advised that I missed 2 appointments. I had to cancel an appointment due a family emergency (I am a co-caregiver to my grandmother and she has been in and out of the hospital) and handling stacking medical bills. I was advised to schedule an appointment as soon as I could to avoid being discharged so I complied and scheduled an appointment. Nevertheless, the night before my scheduled appointment with Leah, I was advised via email by Dr. Moore to seek Medicaid to lessen my medical bills and I was discharged from the clinic being 35 weeks pregnant. I went to the clinic thinking i had my appointment but it was cancelled. I asked to talk to someone about the situation. Neither Leah nor Dr. Moore were willing to talk to me and a staff member served as a liaison relaying messages back and forth. Even though I tried to explain my current situation, the decision remained to discontinue medical care. I'm still seeking prenatal care at 35 weeks. I've called at least 5 clinics and they have turned me down as I'm pass 20 weeks and too far into my pregnancy. This a very stressful situation. Please learn from this mistake and hopefully the staff can revisit their procedure on handling situations like this for future patients.

I agree with the poster, that this should be a chance to clarify our policies and explain our philosophy on patient care. We don't have any set policies on when we discharge patients or any set policies on missed appointments. We don't charge for no-shows like many offices and we evaluate every situation independently, because they are all different. We feel strongly that the patient-provider relationship should be a team effort and we want our patients intimately involved in their care, especially when it involves a baby. When someone chooses to save time and/or money by skipping prenatal visits, we are not going to be a good fit. In this case at a time when prenatal visits should have been every two weeks, she missed two appointments outright and did not schedule another until we contacted her. Only then, did she make an appointment 10 days later- making it almost six weeks without prenatal care. We were unsure if she would even keep that appointment given her history of not coming to past appointments. Only after I sent her a message that we would no longer be involved in her care did she come for an appointment demanding to speak with us.
The poster also mentions Medicaid as though I was belittling her. The poster told one of my staff that a small balance she had with my office (less that $200) was one of the reasons she had not come to her appointments. I do not want money to ever be a barrier to care and mentioned Medicaid as a solution. In the state of Georgia, prenatal Medicaid is almost automatic if you are a US citizen and there is no out of pocket expenses if you have Medicaid. I honestly wanted her to receive care, if not from me from anyone, and didn't want money to be a barrier to her receiving care.
This was a difficult decision and I always take it very seriously when I discharge a patient from our practice. I do find it ironic that she had time to leave negative reviews on at least three social media sites but did not have time to come for prenatal care. I wish her the best and hope she gets care soon with someone she feels comfortable with. If you are someone who doesn't want to take an active role in your medical or prenatal care, then the poster is right- we are not the office for you.
The staff was well organized the process ran efficiently. I was never waiting for longer than 10 minutes. I saw NNP Leah and she was very professional while still being relatable and helpful. The patient portal is really nice as well offering a quick view of results instead of waiting anxiously for a phone call. The facility was very nice and welcoming while also being extremely clean and private. I would definitely recommend Leah and her coworkers.

I am so glad I found this practice and Dr. Jewell specifically. He went above and beyond for me during my appointment. He's skills and bedside manner are top-notch. This was a diagnostic visit, but I will be using him as my regular Ob/GYN from now on. The front desk and the nursing staff were amazing as well. Also, there is free parking and the building/facilities are beautiful.

Dr. Moore is the best obgyn. He's great during pregnancy and there for you at the delivery. He's also a very knowledgeable gynecologist. I highly recommend him.

This practice is truly phenomenal. I just delivered my second child and my care from the first visit throughout my entire pregnancy and labor + delivery far exceeded my expectations. I saw Dr Jewel for most of my visits and he delivered our son. His expertise made my entire experience wonderful. I didn't deliver my first child with this practice and I can honestly say the difference was astounding. I had a lot of fear and anxiety about this pregnancy and delivery yet my questions were heard and answered. It's rare to find a doctor that combines a high level of quality care, professionalism and empathy and I found it here. Ive seen every provider here and they are each compassionate, knowledgeable and they truly care about the patients.

After years of having horrible OBGYN experiences, I decided to finally search for a new doctor once I got pregnant. A friend who works at Northside recommended this practice and I can't rave enough about how wonderful they are! I saw Dr. Jewell throughout my whole pregnancy and he was calm, super friendly and very intelligent. I was a week overdue and ended up asking to be induced and Dr. Moore delivered my baby. He was just as friendly and caring as well. I hope we live in Atlanta long enough for me to have another baby here! You won't regret it if you come to Haven!

I am actually grew up in Wichita, KS and the care there was ok when I had my 3 babies. When I moved to Georgia I found this place because it was convieniently close to my job. I was so happy that I did the first time I stepped foot into their office. The staff there is always welcoming and genuinly care about how you feel. Every time my hubby and I go we feel like we are talking to old friends! Its a very warm welcoming environment. The quality of service from what I was use to back home is TOP NOTCH! Each time we leave our prenatal visits we always are so thankful for the quality and care they provide. Leah has ALWAYS been so awesome! She is very prompt when getting back with you with questions and she just cares! There is no rushing when you are spending your one on one time there and they answer all your questions. Even going as far as checking up on you when you least expect it! That sounds to me like small town gestures and I love it! Dr. Moore is awesome as well! Very strait forward, upfront and caring! I have only spoken with Dr. Jewell over the phone. He actually called me back with answer a question I had and he took time and really explained everything and was very warm. I can honestly say that Haven Ob/Gyn is a place where you feel like a person that is being cared for with YOUR best interest at hand. I have never felt rushed or any negative vibes from anyone there! I am so thankful that I found this place and will continue to shout praises!!

I have three children- the later two were delivered by doctors at this practice. I have experience with Dr. Jewell, who delivered my second, Dr. Moore, who delivered my third, and Leah, who is my regular go-to for most checkups. I found that they all are extremely professional and very skilled. I enjoy that the practice is very small and that you really get a chance to know everyone. In addition, Leah is a standout professional - friendly demeanor, up to date on various medical issues including the latest screenings, and truly concerned with your well-being (as opposed to simply going through a checklist of issues in a rote fashion). Finally, the office is very modern technologically - ultrasounds, bloodwork all done in-house, and they use a great online portal to keep track of appointments and test results.

This is my second child and am so glad I found Haven OB/GYN. I just love this practice. Dr Jewell really makes you feel like you're his only patient with his level of care and professionalism. I never have to wait long to see him and the nurses, phlebotomists and reception staff are all top notch. Compared to my first pregnancy (interstate), the care here is unrivalled. We are sure when the time comes to deliver, we'll be in great hands. Thank you Haven OB/GYN!!

This entire situation is ridiculous. I understand that nothing is free. I didnt and dont ask for any hand me downs. I work in an ob/gyn facility and I was informed that treatment should not be denied if im in a payment plan with haven ob/gyn. I was planning on paying "my full balance" earlier than expected around income tax time. Im a very dependable, sweet, and reliable patient but was treated like I was a criminal . And no...ur office was clear as to the ESTIMATED OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE. it was not fair on me so I COULD MAKE THE DECISION to if I could afford the surgery or not. I called my insuarance co prior to surgery and verfied and im paying northside hospital and anesthesiolgy bill to but they told me prior to. I had 6 fibroid tumors removed this summer. If I knew then what I knw now..I would have left those fibroid tumors in place until I got the money together rather than owe a bill and be refused to see the doctor for a small minor visit. But its ok...I knw better ob/gyn offices who will see me and not discrimimate. Im still going to pay you my money according to my financially agreement monthly. I dont think nothing is free. I work very hard to pay all my bills. I just can't believe I was refused treatment. Thanks Monica: for denying a paying patient who has never been late in paying the bill, always paying my co-pays when visiting the doctot, and ALWAYS made it to my doctors visits on time there at haven ob/gyn. U just lost one of the best patients..

I hate bad reviews and we bend over backwards to make sure all of our patients feel welcome. We never discriminate based on race, religion, age, insurance (or lack thereof), or ethnicity. We do discriminate based on gender- sorry guys, we are an ob/gyn office. We do expect payment for our services and don't claim to be a free clinic. I think we do a great job of working with customers to set up payment plans and helping to estimate costs ahead of time. I wish her nothing but the best with her new doctor.
I'm a completely new patient and I've never experienced a service like this from any OBGYN office. I'm considered to be high risk with my current pregnancy; so finding a capable doctor was top priority. I read over 50 reviews and made an appointment right away. My appointment was around 11am & it was very quiet. The waiting area gave you a calm/peaceful feeling. I interacted with 5 office staff members and they all were personable. I saw Dr. Jewell & instantly knew he was the right doc for me. He answered all my questions and kept asking me if I had anymore. He was AMAZING!!! (So was his assistant). He even hugged me when I was leaving. My husband and daughter were with me & we all agree that WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! After reading all of these positive reviews, you would be a FOOL not to make an appointment asap. BEST PLACE EVER!!!

Dr. Moore, Dr. Jewell, and Leah Pombo are all wonderful. I saw all three during my pregnancy. They are very competent, caring, and personable. I was sick most of my pregnancy and had a higher risk pregnancy due to an auto-immune disorder and they cared very well for me and my daughter. Dr. Moore delivered my daughter and both my husband and I were very impressed with his skill level and the way he expressed genuine concern for us. I highly recommend them.

I cannot say enough good things about this practice! I LOVE the small feel - they are great about remembering you, referring to previous appointments, and you are not just a number to them! Dr. Moore, Dr. Jewell, and NP Leah are all as nice, patient, and helpful as can be! I have NEVER felt rushed during an appointment, always get my questions answered, and always feel that my body and time are treated with respect. Especially if you are pregnant and looking for an OB that you are comfortable with to deliver your baby - these are the people! They have an amazing 3D ultrasound machine, they do more ultrasounds than normal, and the front desk staff, nurses, and phlebotomist (important!) are excellent - professional, but very laid back and friendly.

I cannot praise Dr. Moore & Leah Pombo enough for their stellar service, personal attention, and bedside manner. They are wonderful providers, and the personal attention they bestow on patients is wonderful. On the other hand, dealing with the front office staff is often troublesome. The wait time is lengthy, and I feel more like a number than a patient.... Once Dr. Jewell, Moore, or Leah is with me, the entire Haven OBGYN experience goes from frustrating to above average. Getting past the front desk is often trying, but the care you receive from the doctors is excellent.

I rarely write reviews, but I just had to for Haven Ob/Gyn. I saw Dr. Moore for a little bit, and he was wonderful. Dr. Jewell was newer during my pregnancy and we didn't get to know him until my delivery, which was when he was on call. We experienced what real healthcare should look, feel, and be like. He has the best bedside manner and is incredibly personable. He is confident in his approach but listened to what I wanted as a patient. I spent most of my appointments with Leah. I cannot speak highly enough of Leah. Everything written about Dr. Jewell rings true for her as well. My husband and I cannot express how much gratitude we have for her. She takes her time to explain, listen, and thoroughly made sure I had peace of mind. She is so professional, yet her approach is incredibly comforting and personal. She helped us through a rough beginning in our pregnancy and that is when I knew she was someone special. After doing some tests and talking to us, her assurance and willingness to do everything to help us overcome the beginning hurdles left us wondering why this isn't the standard level of care. She was consistent through and after our pregnancy. I can go on and on about how wonderful she is, but please do yourself a favor and make an appointment! Leah was and is a Godsend for us. She truly went above and beyond. Above the weather, the southern charm, and good food in Atlanta, we are going to miss Leah, Dr. Jewell, and this practice as a whole the most.

We love our environment and are taking steps to help keep it healthy. We now use electronic medical records and e-prescribing prescription medication. We use rechargeable batteries and recycled materials whenever possible. Finally, we have a lobby dedicated to nature complete with lots of sunshine and a koi pond.
