We were able to work with Ann on a number of issues for our project. The yard looks very nice. I would recommend a line by line reconciliation as you progress through the project so that you know exactly the amount of $$ owed at the end. Ann provided several options and was able to keep the project at budget. She went over and above the call with our hardscaped (stone steps, wall, and bench) items. We will be using her services in the future. AJD is someone we can work with long term to continually beautify our yard.

We were clueless as to what to do in our pathetic backyard. We were also embarrassed to have Ann over to see it. Her first words were 'Look at your moss!' And we were like 'huh?' ! Ann's vision for our yard was stunning. As we walked the yard, she showed us how we could shape, trim and transplant plants, bushes and trees instead of trashing them. Ann addressed our huge drainage issues by creating stone steps and a stone-egg rock landing. All the hard scape areas are softened with ferns and ground covers nestled in between. Her plants are excellent quality. Ann is attentive to her customer and their needs, and respectful of the budget while being very generous with her talents. She and her team are hard workers and we look forward to working with them again in the near future.

We had a wooded backyard choked with weeds and old railroad ties that were crumbling from age. Ann Johnson helped us to realize our vision of a "woodland garden" that will be a pleasure to spend time in. Her creativity is amazing!

I live in Barrett Greene subdivision and first hired Ann Johnson Design in 2008 when Atlanta was experiencing severe drought. The grass in my front yard was brown most of the summer due to lack of water. I told Ann I wanted to landscape my front yard with drought resistant plants and get rid of most of the grass. It was one of the best decisions I ever made about my yard. Her proposed landscaping included different kinds of plants that bloom throughout the year, and the colors were coordinated to draw the eyes of the passersby from the landscaping to the house. The plan could also be implemented in phases so I was able to match the cost of the phases with my cash flow. When I am working in the yard individuals from the neighborhood often comment on how great my yard looks and say they wish their yard looked so good. I have since worked with Ann to redesign other parts of my yard and have always been pleased with the results. Several of my neighbors have also worked with her based on how good my yard looks and my strong recommendation. If you would like a new look for your yard, or think your original landscaping just did not measure up, I urge you to contact Ann and ask her to suggest ways to improve your yard, and the curb appeal of your house.

We needed to make an unusable slope level play space for our young children, and stop run off from washing away large parts of our yard, and we wanted it visually appealing. After speaking with many different companies who either were no help, inflexible, or unresponsive, Ann was a welcome change. She was always timely and responsive, but she provided us so much more. The initial consultation provided a great deal of information on our yard and its potential. The follow-up conceptual design started nailing down ideas on a very comfortable and enjoyable space for our family, and even though it was wonderful, she was still flexible about receiving feedback from us to make it our own. Once it was time to plan execution, it turned out that the project was slightly outside of our budget. Ann was very helpful here too. She has much information about how the plan can be adjusted to bring it in-line with what can be spent. This included things like reducing the size of plantings, deferring installations, shopping for various forms of discounts from suppliers, and saving on labor costs by DIY. After a contract was negotiated, she was still intensely involved in the details of our backyard transformation. She always made sure we were satisfied with the direction the project on a day-to-day basis, and even managed to work in some unexpected additional features. We are thrilled with the yard and can't wait to see how it matures and realizes its complete potential.

To say that my yard was a "problem yard" would be an understatement. Ann was able to show me what I had, what it could be and the path to create a great scape. I was surprised and more than pleased.

Ann is a pleasure to work with and her creativity is unmeasureable. In a short period of time she transitioned our landscape from bare bones to lush. Ann's enthusiasm for her profession coupled with her broad understanding of horticulture is key to her success.

Because of the very steep slope in front of our house, we needed to create a landscape design that was beautiful, low maintenance, that would hold the hillside from eroding AND do it on a ‘new homeowner' budget. The plantings Ann chose and installed for us worked beautifully. We attribute her expertise of the design, which matured into a beautiful front yard over the next 2 years, as the reason that house sold so quickly. We recommend Ann and her team for their professionalism, quality of work and staying on budget.

Ann Johnson and her crew did a beautiful job for me. Ann is very knowledgeable and was very patient with all the questions we had. It was very important to her that we were satisfied with our results, which we definitely were.

Since 2007, Ann and her team have helped us with several landscaping challenges. The biggest project successfully resolved multiple drainage issues (the impetus for the project) and greatly improved the aesthetics and functionality of our landscape and entranceway through the use of hardscaping as well as softscaping. She is a talented professional who is all about helping clients create their own special outdoor spaces, with respect for their preferences and budgets. For example, my personal goals include landscaping for birds, and she helps me accomplish that. Once she even volunteered to discuss a delicate property line issue with one of our neighbors, acting as our buffer and resolving the situation with tact and sensitivity. If you want, she will take the time to answer questions and to explain the reasoning behind certain design and plant recommendations. I have learned a lot from her. She not only does a great job, but is fun to work with and has definitely become our go-to person whenever the mood strikes us to undertake a new project (and the budget is willing). We have learned the hard way to avoid contractors who cannot muster up some enthusiasm for a project, and with Ann, we always know that she's going to be just excited as we are. The bottom line is that we highly recommend Ann for her professional skills, personal integrity, creativity, patience, and her enthusiastic approach to projects both large and small.

"I've worked with Ann over a number of years and could not be happier with her sound advice and approach to landscaping. With the severe drought and impact it has had on water usage, I was looking for someone with extensive knowledge on drought tolerant plants and ways to utilize the mature plants I already had. I've gotten tired of sinking more and more money and effort into maintaining my front lawn. With Ann's help and guidance she has transform my yard into a garden that requires minimal effort and watering while looking better than it ever has. She and her team do great work and have provided me with countless ways to save money while keeping a beautiful garden I can enjoy. That's a hard combination to find!"

Ann is very creative and gave us a back yard we love to enjoy. She stayed within budget but kept the quality. Our friends and neighbors rave over our backyard. Thank you Ann!
Ann of Johnson Design transformed my small boring yard into my own tiny piece of heaven. What once was drab, now has cozy places and dramatic spaces that wows every new visitor. Ann's sense of style is second to none.
