I brought my dog in for a check up because I sensed something was wrong, but they didn't find anything wrong with him. I brought him in again and they found a serious illness. They wanted to run some tests and said they would update me next week being that this week fell on a holiday. At first, I didn't think much of it, but looking back, why in the world was I waiting 5 days to wait on some results that I needed to save or take care of my dog? I had to rush him to the GVS emergency hospital on Thanksgiving. I had to overnight him with IV fluids and etc. Had I waited until the following week for results, something could have happened. Too add to my frustration, I received no phone call or update on the tests ran. The staff here really missed the ball here. I honestly regret ever going here. They should have handled the situation differently. I will say they are pricey, compared to other clinics. Please do me a favor, research other clinics on here that have 70+ reviews and 6 star ratings. They are worth the drive.

Dear cvt_30319: I wanted the oppurtunity to respond to your difficult situation. I have reviewed my associate's notes from your visits and feel I need to defend their assessment and actions. Upon a complete physical exam on the first visit, your pet had no signs of illness whatsoever. Hydration, lymph nodes, complete palpation...all normal. No reported vomiting or diarrhea, no lameness, no known trauma...just a gut feeling on your part. They advised close monitoring with the recommendation to return for a follow-up visit and labwork if the situation continued. The following week on the day before the thanksgiving holiday, a follow-up visit again revealed a normal physical exam with the one exception of an elevated temperature. They ran labs and dispensed an antibiotic in case there was an unknown bacterial infection. The doctor instructed that they would not be in until Monday to review the labs, but to come by and pick up the results from the boarding staff if his condition declined further and needed to be seen over the holiday. Incidentally, the labs came back normal and a message was left on voicemail reporting that on Monday. Since then, your pet has been seen by a specialist and another general veterinarian with no diagnosis other than a fever of unknown origin and recently developing vomiting and diarrhea. We strive to do the best for all pets seen here at our clinc and although I understand your frustration, I feel your review was unjust. I am very sorry that your pet is not yet well and I do wish you and your pet the best.
If your pet has a serious illness, I'd suggest taking them to a pet hospital. I brought in two sick 5 week old puppies, who kept having diarrhea, vomiting, were lethargic, and dehydrated and were kind of "giving up." They were always pretty much active and I was always on top of feeding them formula/mush, and they just got like this one day, despite them being well taken care of. It's the strangest thing, one minute they are crawling everywhere, the next their eyes are closing and become very ill. On my visit, the doctor didn't really run a series of tests to see what might be wrong, just put IV fluid on one of them and tried to see if it would eat... I went home, and puppy #1 died within 12 hours after the visit. The second puppy just died 3 hours ago. After deep research based on the symptoms these puppies had, they definitely developed parvovirus. I kept asking the doctor if there's a better way to keep the puppies hydrated, and he said no, and that puppies sometimes just "give up" as if there's no logical explanation. Honestly, I think this has been the strangest experience, even at a vets office. Animals don't just stop eating for no reason. Puppies with parvovirus usually don't die from parvo, but die from dehydration. Every half hour the the formula/water would just disappear from their tummies when tube fed to them. They would either vomit it, or diarrhea. So there's no winning unless I had an IV fluid kit and antibiotics.

I have been taking my dogs here since they were both two months old - I have to say, I was sad when they were out of the twice-monthly puppy shot stage because I missed seeing everyone at the clinic. They are so much fun to be around, yet very professional, knowledgeable and clearly love animals. Just love them!!!

Palmer and crew go the extra mile to make sure our two dogs are in great hands when we travel. Every time I show up with our mutts to drop them off for boarding I get sad (we travel alot) but both dogs start wagging their tails like crazy and pull me in the direction of the kennels. Nothing could give off a better vibe than my dogs looking forward to getting back in there kennels and this allows us serious peace of mind when we are on the road. I cannot say enough good things about Palmer and the staff. The Vets are all top notch and helped me during a horrible time when I had to put my first dog down. If you want top notch care for your pets in all aspects, annuals, surgery, boarding, etc. then Cheshire Bridge Animal Clinic is a perfect fit for you and your animals. I'd give them 10 stars if possible. I've been a loyal customer for 10 years and can't imagine taking my mutts anywhere else. Kevin Fix

I was so worried about leaving my baby to go on vacation....until i visited Cheshire Animal Clinic and Hotel! I've only had him 4 months, but we are totally co-dependent. He needs lots of attention and is an escape artist, so I didn't want to leave him at home with a once-a-day sitter for fear he'd get out. Other vet's boarding areas were sad and scary, but this was just perfect! Separate from dogs and from the clinic, 6 foot cages with 3 levels for them to run and play. The staff was super nice and friendly, they let me bring way too many toys and treats and helped me set up his space. The man who brought him out to me said he let him out to play everyday and he ran all around the room and took a liking to a younger kitten who was also there. This is exactly what I wanted, some extra love and attention in a laid back environment from people who truly love animals. I'm going to start bringing him there for his shots and check-ups, too. *thank you*

I've been taking my dog here for five years after getting a recommendation from a friend whose dog had some pretty complicated medical issues. Since that time, Cheshire Animal Clinic has boarded my dog and taken care of everything from her spaying to annual visits to basic bumps and bruises at the dog park. Even though my dog is very skittish and never wants to be there, they know her well enough to show us right to a room so she can calm down before her exam. I never have to wait more than a couple of days for an appointment, and they always make themselves available for quick concerns. Love Dr. Allen.

We bring our kitties to Dr. Allen: he and his staff and terrific. I trust them 100% and their prices are fair. I've never had to wait long to get an appointment or to see Dr. Allen. He's a really nice guy and the kitties like him as well as they can, considering they get the butt-thermometer while they're there.

I've only been to Cheshire twice but both times were great. I saw Dr. Allen today and I could not have been more pleased. He was great in every way and really took the time to listen to me. The staff was super too. I've had two bad experiences with other vets in Atlanta and now that I've found Chesire, I am so very relieved.

We have 2 cats and 2 dogs that all go to see Dr. Allen at Cheshire Animal Clinic. Every member of the staff is pleasant to me and kind to my babies. Pet care is generally expensive and Cheshire Animal is more or less the same pricing as any other vet. Dr. Allen and Dr. Viscoe are both very knowledgeable and offer great tips and suggestions. I really feel that my gang is taken care of while they are there.

We are very pleased with Dr. Clay Allen and Cheshire Animal Clinic. He listens, he is respectful, and he is willing to "partner" with you on the health and care of your animals. I have a "special needs" dog and he really strives to take my research and opinions into account when treating her. He is open, friendly, and a pleasure to work with.

I was really struggling with finding a good vet when I moved to Atlanta 2 years ago. I went through some bad experiences. That was all before I found Cheshire Bridge. I moved several times but I refused to go anywhere other than Cheshire Bridge for my services. I have sued their boarding and vet services on many occassions and besides the great value for the dollar, they actually have caring people working there. It is refreshing to walk into a place and actually be greeted with a smile. The facilities are spacious and centrally located so there aren't a ton of parking/external transport issues. Dr. Allen is a joy and front office staff deserve to be acknowledged. Trust your animals with Cheshire and you will not be dissatisfied.

I found this pet hotel/vet at Kudzu.com. I am very satisfied. First time I see my Cavalier King Charles actually wanting to play with the keepers. I recommend this Pet Motel and Vet to anyone looking for the extra touch without paying the extra dollar.

I moved to the area about 6 months ago from the far southside and needed a vet. I decided on Cheshire Animal clinic from the reviews on Kudzu. I definitely picked the right one. Everyone was very helpful and friendly and treated my Roxy very nice. I found a great replacement for my former vet. Dr. Allen was great with her and took all the time we needed to get our questions answered.

I can't say enough wonderful characteristics about these veterinarians and employees at Cheshire Animal Hospital. They are professionals, very caring, and so helpful. Dr. Beth Visco helped to relieve my beagle's pain and symptoms of pneumonia in every way as she also provided me with constant communication, which relieved my anxiety. Dr. Beth Visco stayed with my beagle and I for 1.5 hours during an appointment as she explained my dog's x-rays and treatment plan in great detail. (Aubrey, the animal technician, is also wonderful with my dog.) They have a very caring atmosphere, and they will take the time to make sure all my questions are answered. This practice and Dr. Beth Visco are an ENORMOUS ASSET to our community. I will only take my beagle and any other future pets to see Cheshire Animal Hospital.

I am extremely impressed with Cheshire Bridge Animal Clinic and with Dr. Allen in particular. I took my dog to this vet to the first time when it became impossible to get an appointment with my previous vet. I was kind of distraught about having to take him somewhere new but I am glad that I did. I just took my dog in for a routin kennel cough vaccination but Dr. Allen took the time to come in and meet me even though the Vet Tech took care of everything. He introduced himself and got to know me and my dog. He discussed my dogs breed with me and warned me of particular problems the breed has. He was very extremely friendly and not once did I feel like he was in a hurry to get to the next patient. He answered all of my questions and made me feel welcomed to the practice - they even sent me a Thank You card welcoming my dog to the practice the following week. As far as the office staff is concerned - it does seem like they stay quite busy and maybe could use a little bit more help. The phones were ringing non-stop when I was there and I did have to wait a little while for a staff person to show me to the examination room. All of the staff that I dealt with were very pleasant though and sometimes we can all stand to use a little more patience.
