Called them because they have the Trust Dale endorsement. Left on hold with no way to leave a message listening to a barrage of advertising. I had to hang up after 15 min. as I needed to find someone who actually wanted to help.

We had a Mister Sparky technician, Tim Lee, perform a variety of electrical improvements to our house, ranging from installing smoke detectors to running lines for a dedicated circuit in the crawl space. All work was done exactly as promised and with great courtesy. I would hire Mister Sparky and in particular Tim Lee anytime for any electronic work you need for your home.

Called Mr. Sparky on a Monday to install a ceiling fan. They were to be here on Wednesday. Called Wednesday morning for a time and they still had not assigned the ticket to anyone. Said they would immediately. Called them again at 1:00 and they still did not have a technician assigned. My wife stayed home to meet them and it was a waste of her time -- she had plenty to do besides waiting for an inconsiderate company to not show up. We cancelled and will not use them again. Its easy to say that you're always on time if you don't give a time!

We live in NJ, and have two homes we rent in GA. Another contractor accidenetally cut a wire to one of the furnace. He recommended Mr. Sparky. They got there a couple hours later, and had it repaired before the evening. Mr. Sparky was honest enough to tell us that the carpenter could not have known the wire was back there, because it there out of code when our house was built. Not sure what prices should be be we feel we got what we paid for and our renters got heat for the evening.

I chose them to do their reputation and I am completely pleased i did. During a renovation things can be completely stressful but they made the experience very pleasant thanks again for the great work

This company when it comes to your house the fist thing they do is to ask you to sign a $376 contract before any work is done. That contract, I understand, covers a general test of the electrical installation, and, for most part as it was in this case, the repair you asked them to come in the fist place (in this case it was to connect/ fix a wire that did not have electricity). This contract approach turned me off (reminded me to much of the possibility of a scam) and as a result I did no use their service. If they would've focused on the repair to be made, make a estimate, and then adjust the price according the work done I would have gone all away along.

Ive been reading these reviews and i must say, coming from a similar background of work and have used Sparky several times, I am a believer!I am a firm believer u get what u pay for and i got the piece of mind that my house was going to be safe for my family. How do u put a price on that! u can try to save a buck on your tv or car, but dont sacrifice the safety of your family! Jay Butler is very thourough and gave me every option he could and educated me so i could make my own decision. And yes people, they are a company and here to earn a living just like you. If you ask questions and try to make sense of the recommendations, you will make the right decision for you! Or, hire a handy man to save a buck and become another statistic.

I was charged over $3,000 by Mr. Sparky to make electrical repairs and bring my house up to code. The Dekalb code inspector took less than a minute to tell me that my home failed inspection, and listed 7 problems that Mr. Sparky needed to fix. So, after MULTIPLE Mr. Sparky employees deemed my home safe, and claimed that I would pass inspection, I failed (well, really, Mr. Sparky failed). Here are some specific examples of OTHER reasons I don't recommend Mr. Sparky: (1) I was lied to and told that a smoke detector was a carbon monoxide detector repeatedly. I had to produce evidence (thanks to a simple google search of the detector's model #) to get the Mr. Sparky technician to listen to little ol' me. (2) I overheard 2 Mr. Sparky technicians discussing exposed wires in my attic (after 4 previous Mr. Sparky technicians overlooked this issue). When it was clear these 2 employees weren't going to fix the issue, I had to insist otherwise. (3) It really isn't comforting to hear Mr. Sparky technicians say things like ‘I bet if we just tape this then it'll pass inspection' - or ‘I'm mad at Joel, he said this job was going to be a quick follow-up to finish a previous quote' (in this case they were talking about my house, which, not surprisingly, required over 4 hours to fix the code inspector's 7 identified problems). Well, I wouldn't say ‘fix' just yet, the code inspector will make his repeat visit soon -

When the power went off in 2 bedrooms in our house, Mr. Sparky was the only electrician who would come on Saturday night. He couldn't find the problem right away, so he came back on Sunday, his day off. It took about 2 hours to find the problem, but he was thorough and solved the problem. I would call them again, anytime.

I wanted Mr. Sparky to install a home surge protection system. I work in healthcare and need an early appointment, which I made very clear to the scheduler 10 days ago. Their earliest time was a window between 8-11am. At 10am I called to reschedule since obviously the installation was going to take longer than I had available. The "best" they could offer was the same window on another day. I asked for an 8am time slot but was told if I wanted a first-call appointment it would cost an extra $20. This wasn't disclosed when I initially made the appt - I was lead to believe that I would be in their first-up queue. An alternative was a Saturday "window" from 8am-7pm - waiting 11 hours for a technician to show up isn't high on my list of things to do on Saturdays. Unfortunately the scheduler didn't try to work with me on finding a good time for us both, so I'll find another company who will. I can understand service calls being hard to schedule, but my experience today was similar to waiting and waiting on the cable or phone company to arrive at 2pm when the appt was at 9am. In my humble opinion Mr. Sparky is more concerned with filling their schedules and less about good customer service. Since I didn't get the equipment installed I have no other opinion on how good they may or may not be, but at this point I don't care.

Had some lights that were flickering in an upstairs bedroom and bathroom. Two guys came out and played with the fuse box for about 5 minutes. Went upstairs just to see the lights flickering and went straight back downstairs. My girlfriend mentioned the garbage disposal was not working and before we could say anything, they went and "checked it to see if it's getting power" and charged for that service (if you can even call it a service). They wanted to removed the fuse box, and literally just put it on the opposite of the wall it was on. It made literally no sense and our landlord had to pay $300 for them to do absolutely nothing. Even though I didn't pay, I have never felt more ripped off. I would never recommend this place to anyone. This happened in Marietta, Georgia.

The reviews above that give names of servicemen and 5-star ratings seem to have been written by the same salesman and passed along to every Mr.Sparky employee in the company to submit. My Maryland technician, lets call him Percy, refused to enter the crawl space to examine a light socket that needs replacing. He took one look at a light switch that had sparked and practically asked for his service fee so he could leave for his next rip off call. His "diaognosis" for both jobs? $500.

A tree fell on my power line which is connected to my house. The electric company turned my power off and said that it would not be turned back on until I had an electrician come out and fix it. The first company that came out said that they would have to rewire my whole house and basically was trying to turn a simple fix into a big job to get more money out of me. The next day I called Mister Sparky and a technician by the name of Danny got the job done in 30 minutes. He had the job inspected and made sure that my power was turned back on. Their customer is outstanding as well. A dispatcher by the name of Vandy went beyond the duties of her job in making sure that my power was turned back on.She even called me the next day to make sure that I had power and all went well. Thank you Mister Sparky!!!

I had a rental property that had an outage. A handyman recommended that I use an electrician. Called in Mr Sparky and essentially they charged me $200 to replace an outlet which is CRAZY. Then they try to upsell on a million types of services. It will be the last time I use them.
