I just wanted to share with you how pleased I am with my arms. I have been so self-conscious of this area since I was a teenager. I waited 15 years to do something about it and thanks goodness I did. This has completely changed my attitude and boosted my confidence BIG TIME. I can finally wear tank tops! Yeaaaaaa!!!
Bridge of Life
For most of my youth and adulthood I was a patient. I went from facility to facility each time marveling I was still somehow alive. It was painful to give up my ED, the familiarity and comfort it feigned, the false reassurance I needed it in order to survive. I got better finally. I did not act out. The urge to do so was almost innate, compulsive. I trusted, I let go, I took direction. I went home and for the first time I did not relapse and I knew in order to keep that I had to give back. But what could I possibly give? The allure of the ED still lurked despite this I took a chance - took the job. Oddly, the more I gave, the less my ED appealed to...
A gem right here in Alpine!
We are very fortunate to have the Alpine View Lodge and their wonderful staff so close to home! Initially, we placed mom in a different Assisted Living, and when that did not work out we were desperate. The folks here assesed her needs and welcomed her with open arms. The administrators got to know her and work with her needs as an individual-regardless of her memory impairment. Mom has now been at AVL for 3+ years and is leading a dignified, safe life.
