worth the stop
Great place to buy your comics/toys/anime. And if they don't have it, they will try their darndest to get it for you. Best prices around too, even o...
Great Comic Shop!
The guy that looked and acted like the comic book guy from the Simpsons and worked there for years quit about year ago, and the place is a lot cleaner and friendlier. Unlike most comic shops, this one does not run out of major comics by the end of the week (though if you like low selling indie titles you better get there Wednesday). They also have near complete runs of major titles going back several years so its easy to find back issues. The filing system is a bit overwhelming with so many books crammed into a small shop, but they're neatly organized and will help you find anything that you can't.
HUGE shop! Very friendly sales people.
I stopped in here for the first time today and they were great. I was greeted when I came in and shown around the entire store. It is a warehouse of sorts and really allows them to have a huge selection of back issues and a good selection of current titles as well. I would probably go back again just to see the cute sales girl again if I wasn't already sold by the shop itself.
Without a Doubt, Best Shop I've Ever Seen
It's easy to see why they keep winning Best of San Diego every year. This might be the biggest comic shop I've ever seen and they are packed to the gills with comics(even indies!) and Graphic Novels. I'm just starting to read some manga and they have more manga than Barnes & Noble. The guys that work their are cool, they answer questions and suggest stuff they think I might like. I'm not a toy or statue person but they have a lot of neat ones and some cool t-shirts too. If you like comics, you have to visit this place.
Dr. Chesner's still in town
His office is at 2404 Madison Avenue, at the top of the Texas Street exit on 8. He has an enormous selection of frames and a great staff. My experience in his office was really wonderful.
