Best museum for dinosaurs
The Denver museum entrance is guarded by the skeleton of a huge T Rex with one foot in the air. One of my favorite pictures is one I took looking up the leg of this skeleton from underneath his massive foot. You can see his teeth from between his toes. This place is so cool, they had animatronic dinosaures way before Jurassic Park came out. There's also a giant Pterodactyl hangning over the atrium that to a kid, looks the size of a 747. If you or your kids (and what kid doesn't) have an interest in dinosaurs, this is the place to go.
A lesson in American history
People are becoming more and more detatched from American history, especially of the old west. Their knowledge, if any, is based on legened or rewritten history. It's a shame. I probably would not have thought myself to go to this museum if it weren't for the fact, my mother's father's side of the family were mostly Smiths and Codys. The view, as another reviewer said, is incredible. I learned that many of the stories of William Cody are not just legend. I also learned; besides great, great, great, great uncle Cody, I had some outlaws in my family. I recommend it to everyone but then, my opinion is biased.
A beautiful zoo...rivals San Diego!
I love this zoo... it is beautiful, and the animals are happy, and healthy. The facility is immaculate and the grounds manicured. It is one of the nicest zoos I have ever been to. It truly rivals San Diego's Zoo.... it just doesnt get as much press! It is in the heart of downtown and is a joy to visit.
