Stone Mountain Beautiful Park
Love Stone Mountain Park. It's the best family park in Metro Atlanta. It has a lot of Historic site. Movies are produced there. Stone Mountain Park have amusement rides, good food, fishing lake, golf club, and great site seeing.
Too crowded for me to return
I have been to this beautiful facility many times. However on a recent trip with friends from out of town, we found it nearly impossible to walk through the aquarium with feeling claustrophobic. Not sure if they were at maximum capacity but wow it took some of the fun out of it and we left much earlier than normal. Home they get a handle on this because its just not worth the stress to fight through the crowd.
Great place to learn more about CNN; for families, schools and anyone that wants to learn behind the scenes.
The Fox Theater is one of the reasons that I love living within walking distance of the theater. if you have never been to a show here or are visiting then this should be on the list of things not to miss. If no show is playing then be sure to take one of the tours to get a feel for the building. Hard to believe that at one time the building was on the chopping block...
Western Art Museum in Cartersville???
I grew up in Cartersville and the fact that there is a Smithsonian quality western art museum in downtown always leaves me scratching my head. The Smithsonian affiliation means that the facility is top notch and the first time I was there I couldn't help but be impressed. Is this the same city I grew up in and the site where Gilmer Street Baptist Church used to sit? Not sure about the quality of the collection as I'm not really into western art and the person I was with, having a visual arts background, pointed out several perspective issues in some of the artwork.
